<B>1869 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-749, Pollock-832, High R.6, PR65 PCGS.</B></I> Standard Silver half dollar with Liberty facing right on the obverse, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above, and the motto below. The reverse shows 50 CENTS in the center, surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel with STANDARD SILVER above and the date below. Struck in silver with a plain edge. This is a richly toned example that shows carefully preserved surfaces overall; although a few reverse pinscratches deny perfection. Smoky-olive and electric-blue colors adorn the obverse periphery; the reverse is toned with a mixture of cobalt-blue and brown-gray shadings. Fewer than twenty pieces are believed known of this pattern striking, and this example is one of only five coins graded at PR65 by NGC and PCGS combined, with none certified any higher.
