<B>1869 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-744, Pollock-825, Low R.7, PR66 Brown NGC.</B></I> Standard Silver Design A: Liberty wears a cap with three stars as more fully described for Judd-696. A ribbon across Liberty's shoulder is inscribed LIBERTY. Several letters on the motto are sharply doubled, especially D of GOD. Charles Barber signed this die with a small B that appears in the small space directly above the L in LIBERTY. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Only the half dollars carry Barber's initial, as the smaller size coins do not have enough space. Both sides exhibit considerable central design weakness.
