<B>1869 50C PR65 PCGS.</B></I> The obverse is double struck, most noticeably on the date, the profile, and the pole. Apparently, the hammer (obverse) die was loose, and rotated a degree or two counterclockwise between blows. Well struck and beautiful despite a tiny spot beneath the cap and a faint fingerprint fragment near the left scroll end. The seated Liberty is deeply frosted, although gray toning on HALF DOL denies a Cameo designation.
