<B>1869 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-740, Pollock-821, Low R.7, PR65 PCGS.</B></I> A dies trial struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. All 1869 circulating denominations, from the cent to double eagle, were also struck in aluminum alloy, although such specimens are invariably very rare. Apparently, a limited number of sets each were created in aluminum, copper, and nickel for a few well positioned collectors. This well struck representative has frosty motifs and mirrored fields.
