<B>1869 1C PR65 Red PCGS.</B></I> A well-mirrored proof, and not always found as such. As pointed out by Ron Sirna in the December 2002 issue of <I>Longacre's Ledger</B></I>, many proofs of this and other dates from the 1860s had the dies polished after hardening. Thus, many proofs are shallowly mirrored and show little reflectivity. This is a splendid, deeply mirrored piece that even displays a mild bit of contrast against the devices.
