<B>1869 1C PR65 Red NGC.</B></I> According to Richard Snow's <I>Guide Book of Flying Eagle and Indian Head Cents</B></I>, "This issue was struck in the same mintage range as the 1866 to 1868 issues. Most have a mottled red-brown look, with average mirrors. Gem red examples are difficult to find." This lovely specimen displays vibrantly reflective fields and crisply struck devices, with highly attractive coloration. Two or three tiny lint marks (as made) reside on the obverse, but post-striking distractions are absent on both sides. Census: 12 in 65 Red, 6 finer (10/07). <BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> James B.
