1869 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-711, Pollock-790, R.7, PR63 Red and Brown ANACS. Liberty faces right. She wears a headband, and her back hair is tied in a bun. Struck in copper with a plain edge. The fields reflect iridescent ruby-red, gold, and violet colors, with an additional dusty speckled tan patina. The surfaces are unabraded, but the lower part of the wreath is softly struck. An extremely rare pattern. Pollock's reference lists just two examples, the first in Sotheby's 1954 King Farouk sale, the second in a 1983 Bowers and Merena auction. PCGS and NGC have graded a total of three examples, all in similar PR63 and PR64 Red and Brown grades. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
