1868 S$1 MS63 NGC. Ex: Richmond Collection. After the Civil War, coin mintages crept upward once again as businesses began to recover. The 1868 Seated dollar had a mintage of 162,100 pieces; however, most apparently went into the channels of commerce and very few were set aside in Mint condition. NGC and PCGS combined have only certified eight pieces in MS63, with 16 finer (2/07). Well struck overall (but not completely defined over the highpoints), the gray-blue surfaces show a significant undertone of rose patina. Identifiable by a series of three milling marks in the right obverse field.
Ex: Richmond Collection, Part II (David Lawrence, 11/04), lot 1493.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
