<B>1868 G$1 MS67 Prooflike NGC.</B></I> The 1868 gold dollar is far from common in Prooflike Mint State, with NGC grading just seven examples across all grades (6/07). The majority of those pieces are in lower grades in the range, with three in MS61, two in MS62, and one in MS63. The last representative is the spectacular example offered here, an exquisitely preserved MS67 that easily trumps the rest.<BR> The obverse has bold mirrors and a hint of contrast, while the reverse offers essentially equal reflectivity. The delicate canary-gold surfaces of this Prooflike Superb Gem are virtually immaculate, and even under magnification, one can discern only the most trivial of flaws.
