<B>1868 3CN Three Cent Nickel, Thick Planchet, Judd-615, Pollock-680, R.5, PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC.</B></I> The obverse is struck from the adopted three cent nickel dies, while on the reverse the Roman numeral III has a smooth surface and is surrounded by a wreath of corn, cotton, wheat, and tobacco. The obverse is set on a three cent-sized planchet measuring 17.9 mm, leaving that side with extra wide borders; while the reverse was set in a one cent die and measures 19.1 mm. Thus, the border is much wider on the obverse than the reverse. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. This is an exceptional piece that is mostly brilliant.
