<B>1868 3C Three Cent Nickel, Judd-616, Pollock-682, High R.6, PR66 </B></I> S<B> Brown NGC.</B></I> The obverse is struck from the adopted three cent nickel dies, while on the reverse the Roman numeral III has a smooth surface and is surrounded by a wreath of corn, cotton, wheat, and tobacco. The obverse is set on a cent-sized planchet, leaving that side with extra wide borders, but the reverse looks normal. Struck in copper with a plain edge. Deeply mirrored fields give a pronounced sheen to the deep brown and blue toning that is seen over each side.
