An unusual and rare pattern with a small shield and inverted wreath on the obverse and a legend that reads EXCHANGED FOR U.S. NOTES. The reverse is laid out in a peculiar fashion also with ONE DIME in the center, a six-pointed star above, the date below, and all surrounded by a wreath of cotton, corn, and tobacco. Struck in copper with a plain edge. This borderline-Gem specimen is accented in steel-blue and violet patina, with a fair degree of red remaining on the reverse.
