1867<S$1> PR64 NGC. Orange color embraces the rims, more prominently on the obverse. Clean fields and modestly glowing devices ensure the eye appeal. The strike is exacting, even on trouble spots for the type, such as the eagle's left (facing) ankle and Liberty's hair. The mintage of 625 pieces guarantees the scarcity. 1867 is the last year of truly low Philadelphia Mint business strikes. Later issues were struck in greater number, intended for export to the Far East. Population: 63 in 64, 14 finer (9/05).
