1867 Edwin Booth Printed Playbill
1867 Edwin Booth Printed Playbill for Richard Third. One page, 4.5" x 9.5", Boston Theatre, May 10, 1867. Edwin Booth was an American actor and theatrical manager but more importantly he was the brother of Lincoln assassin, John Wilkes Booth. Edwin had first appeared in Richard III at the age of fourteen, and went on to make the title role among his most famous. Some regard him as one of the finest Shakespearean actors of the 19th century. The only time he appeared on the same stage with his brother John was during a performance of Julius Caesar, the irony of which cannot be overlooked! The playbill is in very fine condition; presents with a few light folds; will display beautifully.
