NGC PF58BN. This coin is made with regular US issue 1867 $5 dies, struck in copper, also struck in nickel (none certified). Reported In Judd as Rarity high R7, but we suggest R8. None graded by PCGS. Two graded by NGC. One PF65. This coin is conservatively graded with pleasing chocolate brown surfaces. The 1867 $5 pattern coins are exceedingly rare, with only two different die patterns, and both only struck in two different metals each. As such, this is one of the great rarities of the gold coin patterns. From the Samuel Berngard Collection. -62108
