<B>1867 3CS PR67 Cameo NGC.</B></I> The 1867 three cent silver piece had a mintage of 625 proofs. A relatively large number of these have apparently survived, if the NGC/PCGS census/population figures are any indication. The two services have seen more than 300 coins. In Cameo, however, the number of certified examples is fewer than 50 specimens.<BR> This Superb Gem Cameo example displays pronounced motif-field contrast, and is essentially untoned on the obverse, while the reverse bears just the slightest hint of light gold color. The design elements are exquisitely struck, as befits a proof striking, and both sides are immaculately preserved.
