1867 $2 1/2 PR64 PCGS. An opportunity to acquire an example of this rare proof quarter eagle issue does not occur often. This near-Gem specimen possesses immense eye appeal for the grade. The striking details are unimpeachable and razor-sharp on all of the obverse and reverse design elements, including the denticles. The fields are watery and deeply reflective, and the frosted devices achieve a cameo-like effect on both sides. A splash of deep rose patina adorns the central reverse, and traces of orange color appear on Liberty's face and neck. A grade-limiting pinscratch extends from just left of the date well up onto Liberty's bust. A small red-orange alloy spot is noted along the obverse border, between stars 12 and 13. Population: 5 in 64, 2 finer (11/06).
From The RNB Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
