1867 $1 PR67 Cameo NGC
1867 $1 PR67 S Cameo NGC. Only 46,900 business strikes were minted of the 1867 Seated dollar. It is rarely encountered at any grade level, and, in the opinion of John McCloskey, it may well be the rarest P-mint in the With Motto series (in circulated condition). As a date, however, the 1867 does not have the appearance of being a scarce issue because proofs are available often enough to satisfy date collectors. Five examples of this issue have been certified at PR67 Cameo, by NGC (8/07), but only two of those have a "Star" designation, and none are finer. When viewing this coin it is easy to take the technical merits of the piece for granted, as one is so enthralled with the color scheme on each side. The mirrored fields are brightly reflective and free from any mentionable defects, as one would surmise from the grade. The devices are nicely frosted against the fields, and each side is spectacularly toned. The centers are brilliant, but soon give way to rich concentric rings of iridescence around the margins. A must-see piece for the serious Seated dollar collector.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
