<B>1867 $1 PR65 Cameo PCGS.</B></I> The Mint struck 625 proof dollars in 1867, which were distributed with the silver proof sets of the year. Judging from the nearly 500 pieces certified by PCGS and NGC, it would appear that most have survived to the present day (even taking into account that some of these were undoubtedly resubmissions). Roughly 75 1867 proof dollars have been given a Cameo designation by the two services.<BR> The present Gem is one of just four examples seen by PCGS, with none grading higher (11/07). Waves of cobalt-blue, lavender, and golden-brown patina rush over each side, and an impressive strike sharpens the design elements. The field-motif contrast is stunning, further heightening the coin's outstanding eye appeal.
