<B>1866-S $20 Motto AU55 NGC.</B></I> In 1866, it took some time for the new reverse dies featuring the motto IN GOD WE TRUST to travel from Philadelphia to San Francisco, which led to the creation of two separate varieties of 1866-S coinage in several denominations. This first year Type Two S-Mint issue is a pale rose-gold in color, with a bit of luster evident in the recessed areas.
