<B>1866-S $20 Motto AU53 PCGS.</B></I> In his <I>Encyclopedia,</B></I> Walter Breen notes that unlike the changes made to several other designs, the placement of IN GOD WE TRUST within the oval of stars on the reverse did not crowd the other elements. On this briefly circulated example, the straw-gold of the obverse gives what to apricot and wheat colors on the reverse. Moderately abraded overall with above-average detail on the devices, though the upper right stars are soft.
