<B>1866-S $10 No Motto--Cleaned--ANACS. AU53 Details.</B></I> Subdued green-gold surfaces are free of any significant marks other than the usual trivial abrasions that were acquired during a brief stay in circulation. Just 8,500 eagles were minted in San Francisco before the new With Motto dies were introduced part way through the year. Perhaps the entire mintage went into circulation as the typical survivor is well worn.
