<B>1866 5C Rays MS66 PCGS.</B></I> Like the three cent denomination in 1865, a copper-nickel five cent piece made its debut in 1866, a herald of the end for its silver counterpart. Of those first-year examples, this is a remarkable survivor that has strong luster and just a touch of softness on the upper stars. Turquoise-blue peripheral patina surrounds sunset-orange centers.
