<B>1866 5C Rays MS66 PCGS.</B></I> First year of issue for the Shield nickel series and only a two-year type, with rays between the reverse stars. This Premium Gem shows generally bold details for the issue, although some of the usual mushiness (which eventually led to a design change) is apparent on both sides. The bright, untoned surfaces are highly lustrous and essentially blemish-free.
