What's more, the devices are razor sharp in strike and set atop glistening reflectivity in the fields. It is, however, the presence of full mint luster that truly sets this coin apart from the typically encountered survivor of this issue. Since the Mint did not record the original mintage for the proof 1866 Cent, the best figure we have to go on is an estimate of 725 pieces based on the number of silver proof sets prepared.
