<B>1866 10C PR66 Cameo NGC.</B></I> After lowered proof production during the Civil War, proofs were struck in larger numbers in 1866. In this case, 725 special strikings were minted for collectors. This is a lovely example that has bright, untoned surfaces on each side. The devices are heavily frosted, and when set against the deeply mirrored fields produce a strong cameo effect. The fields show some effects of die polishing. The only flaw worthy of mention is a lint mark in the right obverse field.
