1864 $20 MS62 PCGS. Although the 1864 double eagle is not considered a rare date when all grades are considered, it is a condition rarity in Mint State. A few pieces were found among coins recovered from the treasure of the S.S. Republic, with 29 coins certified by NGC at an average grade of MS60. The treasure of the S.S. Brother Jonathan did not include any examples of this issue. This frosty and lustrous piece has brilliant lemon-yellow color. It is sharply struck with excellent details on both sides. The obverse is lightly abraded and the reverse is nearly mark-free. Population: 8 in 62, 1 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
