1864 1C L On Ribbon MS65 Red PCGS. The change from the issues of 1860-1863 to those of 1865 and later was a two-stage process. First came the shift in alloy, from copper-nickel to bronze. Later (and less obviously), the designer's initial was added to the obverse. The present example is an attractive Gem representative of the last, suitably struck with vibrant copper-orange surfaces. Minimally marked with hardly any carbon. Population: 34 in 65 Red, 3 finer (12/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
