1864 1C Bronze PR66 Red Cameo PCGS.
1864 1C Bronze PR66 Red Cameo PCGS. The 1864 is one of the rarest dates in the bronze series of Indian cents, and it is underappreciated by most collectors, except those who are seeking one of the finer examples for a Registry Set. Only 470 proofs were struck, and that number is open to debate. Indian cent specialist Ron Sirna believes the correct mintage figure to be closer to 300 pieces. This lovely Gem has deeply mirrored fields with sharply contrasting devices on each side. The deep cherry-red color on the obverse lightens considerably on the reverse to an almost copper-nickel whitish-gray coloration. A splendid, problem-free coin that will surely find its way into one of the finest sets of Indian cents that are being assembled today. Population: 1 in 66 Cameo, none are finer (10/03).From the Palm Beach Collection. Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
