1864 1C Bronze PR64 Red PCGS. In the opinion of Ron Sirna, the 1864 Bronze is one of the rarest issues in the entire proof Indian Cent series. The author discounts Breen's estimate that 100 pieces were produced and, instead, suggests an original mintage of approximately 300 coins. Regardless, the rarity of this issue is such that fully lustrous examples in any grade represent important bidding opportunities that the serious collector should not overlook. This nearly Gem quality specimen displays well blended pinkish-red and cherry-red hues throughout the complete endowment of luster. Moderate brightness is noted in the fields, and a small as struck planchet void on Liberty's neck is also worthy of mention. Some minor carbon is not out of context with the assigned grade. From the Colburn Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
