<B>1864 $1 PR63 NGC.</B></I> Although only 470 proofs were struck in 1864, at least two obverse dies were used. This is the level date variant, easily distinguished from the low 4 variety, an example of which is also in the present auction. The present piece has dusky orange toning with selected cherry-red and ocean-blue highlights.
