<B>1863-S $10 AU55 NGC.</B></I> The 1863-S is even more rare than suggested by its puny production of 10,000 pieces. NGC has certified only 34 pieces in all grades, including three recovered in recent years from the <I>S.S. Republic.</B></I> NGC has yet to certify any pieces as Mint State. The present example is lustrous for the grade, and is sharply struck save for moderate bluntness on the eagle's neck.
