1863 S$1 PR62 PCGS. In the midst of the Civil War, the price of silver coins rose above face value and the Mint made it more difficult for collectors to acquire proofs with greenbacks. The 1863 has the lowest mintage of any proof post-1858 issue, with the exception of the pattern 1866 No Motto. This colorfully toned PR62 specimen displays medium intensity cobalt-blue peripheral patination that transitions to lavender and orange-gold coloration in the centers, with the overall color scheme assuming greater intensity on the obverse. All of the design features are exquisitely struck. Housed in an old green label holder.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
