1863 H10C PR65 NGC. Both the business strikes and proofs of this date were struck with the same die, a not-uncommon occurrence for low-mintage emissions of the era. All of the coins show a doubled 18 in the date, but the business strikes are much rarer than the proofs in high grades. This particular proof, regardless, is far and away superior to the typical proof survivor from the skimpy mintage of 460 pieces. The centers offer iridescent blue and deep lilac, radiating outward to lemon-yellow and copper-orange in a brilliant sunset display. The deep patina fails to subdue the excellent luster. A coin for the color enthusiasts that will not disappoint. Census: 21 in 65, 16 finer (12/06).
From The Hill Country Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
