1863 H10C MS68 PCGS. Production of P-mint half dimes plummeted from nearly 1.5 million pieces in 1862 to a radically lower 18,000 business strikes after the suspension of specie payments during the third year of the Civil War. Their survival ratio is also extremely low, as economic uncertainty resulted in many being almost immediately melted. This impeccable Superb Gem displays rich, frosted mint luster without a trace of prooflike qualities, somewhat unusual for an issue of such small production. Both sides are is framed in golden-brown and sea-green patina of unmatchable loveliness. Sharply struck on the obverse with the only area of softness found on the top left portion of the wreath on the reverse, an area often found weak on smaller Seated Liberty coinage. Unsurpassable quality. Population: 3 in 68, 0 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
