1863 H10C Half Dime, Judd-323, Pollock-388, R.7, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Only about a dozen examples of this type are known. The design elements are the same as those seen on the regular issue coins. According to the USPatterns.com website: "Although described in the literature as "regular dies trial pieces", these are actually restrikes deliberately made in the early 1870s and sold as part of complete off-metal sets with the silver coinage of this year ... These half dime dies were made from a hub which had the "D" in "United" broken and are believed to be backdated novodels." This near-Gem specimen is well produced with rich red-brown coloration and unblemished surfaces. Moderate scattered carbon specks prevent an even finer grade assessment. PCGS Population: 2 in 64 Red and Brown, 2 finer in MS64 Red (8/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
