This Civil War-era Partially Printed Document is from the State of Maine Treasure's Office and is pursuant to an, “Act relating to the receipt and disbursement of fund of the Maine Volunteers.” Document measures about 8.5” x 14.25”, 1 page, on official Maine Treasurer's Office stationery, from Augusta, Sept. 18, 1863, to the treasurer of the town of Parkman. The Act was approved March 18, 1862, allowing soldiers list to list "For Whose Use Held" and amount sent. This example lists a single entry for a “Baxter Holmes” in the amount of $40. Signed, “Yours Respectfully, N. Dame.” Original folds, great condition. The first of this type we have encountered.
