The Black Valley Railroad was an 1860 metaphor for the road to hell for those who drank alcohol. The train depicts partiers and drunks at the “drunkard’s curve” station, the last stop before going into the mountains, the home of the devil, storms, violence and ultimate death – the last stop “Destruction at Dead River.” Much propaganda in the text at the bottom. SIZE: 20” x 18” including margins, excluding old original frame. CONDITION: Very Good. Image clean and without faults.
