1863 Two-Cents, Judd-310, Pollock-375, R.7, PR64 PCGS. The reverse closely resembles the regular dies 1864 two cent piece, while the obverse exhibits a bust of Washington with the date below. Washington faces right, and has a ribbon binding his hair near his shoulder. GOD AND OUR COUNTRY consumes much of the obverse border. Judd-305 through Judd-311 provide the first portrait of the first president on U.S. coinage, if the privately issued Getz patterns are excluded. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. A well struck pattern with gold, orange, blue-green, and rose colors. The fields are moderately reflective, as is appropriate for the grade. Housed in a first generation PCGS holder. Population: 1 in 64, 1 finer (7/06).
From The Antigo Collection.
