1862, folded letter sheet from New York to Madrid, Spain. Franked with a Fine 5¢ dark red brown (#75 var., a premium shade), tied by a neat grid cancel, with London and two Spanish backstamps. File fold in the center, F-VF, with 2023 P.F. certificate, a nice usage of this premium shade. Scott catalog value is $1000 off cover, the regular #75 has a 65% premium on cover over the off-cover value (which would suggest $1650)
