<B>1862-S 10C AU58 PCGS.</B></I> Brian Greer (1992) writes that the 1862-S dime is "Very scarce above VF and rare in mint State." He further says that "... it is undervalued in XF and AU ..." The high-end AU example in this lot displays light golden-gray patina with accents of rainbow coloration on the obverse, and dapples of russet on the reverse. Excellent definition is visible on the design elements. A few light, unobtrusive circulation marks appear on each side.
