<B>1862-S 10C AU58 NGC.</B></I> Seated Dime collectors know that virtually all Civil War era dimes are tough to come by in any grade. Most catalogs list S-Mint coins of the era as inexpensive coins in circulated grades, yet simply finding a collectible piece is tough, and finding one that will fit in a high grade set is exponentially tougher. Price guides may not recognize this, but auction results show that collectors do. The coin presented in this lot is not a Mint State piece, yet comes with only a trace of wear on the highest points of the design. Luster is virtually full under iridescent olive color. This is only the third time we have been privileged to offer this date in such a high grade; who knows when another such opportunity will arise.
