Apparently a prooflike finish is common to this issue as we have handled an XF45 recently that still showed remnants of reflectivity in the fields. This is an impressive coin that is brilliant throughout with heavy die striations in the fields. Although not noted on the insert, the devices show a significant amount of mint frost, giving both obverse and reverse a moderate cameo appearance. Pinpoint striking details characterize the features on each side with enough definition to rival a doubly struck proof. Population: 12 in 63, 15 finer (9/02).
