The title & year are emblazoned in gilt letters on the leather spine cover. Encompassing a tumultuous year during the American Civil War, this collection of Harper's Weekly features numerous illustrations of battles & other important events including: the Battle of Pittsburg Landing; the Great Naval Battle before Memphis; the Battle of Baton Rouge; the Battle of Beever Creek; and more. Condition / Notes: The boards of this volume display moderate to significant rubbing & shelf wear, particularly on edges & high points. There are partial cracks to the front & back hinges though the binding is otherwise solid & intact. Several pages & illustrations have been clipped or lost, & at least one page is detached.
