Henry Clay Carte De Visite Photograph by Mathew Brady
1862 Henry Clay Carte De Visite Photograph Image by Mathew B. Brady, Fine.
This is an original Carte De Visite Photograph Image of Henry Clay, about 4” x 2.5” on its original card mount. It reads, at bottom: "Entered according to Act of Congress A.D. 1862 by M.B. Brady in the Clerks office of the District Court of the U.S. for the So. District of New York." The backmark reads: "Published by E. & H.T. ANTHONY, 501 Broadway New York FROM PHOTOGRAPHIC NEGATIVE IN BRADY'S National Portrait Gallery." Some overall wear and age, while his image and face is sharp. A scarce, rather important CDV image of one of America’s greatest national Political figures.
