<B>1862 50C PR66 NGC.</B></I> An underrated issue in all grades, here represented by a delectably toned Premium Gem from this tiny emission of only 550 proofs. Glittering reflective qualities shine forcefully through splendid multicolored toning that, on the obverse, ranges from orange at the centers to iridescent blue at the rims. Thin swaths of near-brilliance extend diagonally in several places. Less dramatic amber and blue iridescence gravitates to the borders on the reverse. The date is lightly punched and delicate on this Civil War-era piece.
