1861 dated tower .58 caliber brass mounted musket, cut and wrapped with tacks and Indian style decorations. The gun measures 41-3/4" overall with 26" barrel. The metal surfaces show light to heavy pitting within a black to brown deep patina. The forestock is hide wrapped and sinew stitched with many large brass tacks which show patina. The buttplate is removed and butt scorched from camp fires. The end of the stitching near the muzzle shows a loop where a feather was once attached. A real Indian gun that shows frontier wear and carry and is from a local collectors estate who obtained it from James Serven in the 1950's by tradition. Est: $1,000 - $3,000
