<B>1861-S $20 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Based upon the overall commentary on this issue in <I>An Insider's Guide to Collecting Type 1 Double Eagles,</B></I> by Adam Crum and Doug Winter, this would seem to be a fairly typical example. The striking details are somewhat weak on some of the finer design details, and the luster is below average for the type. Highpoint wear is not noticed, but numerous minor abrasions are present on each side.
