1861 G$1 MS63 PCGS. Bright and satiny, with pleasing light coloration, this piece is boldly struck with better-than-average details for the issue, especially on Liberty's hair and crown. A patch of faint granularity (as struck) is observed on the lower obverse, and both sides display faint die clash marks. Purchased in the 1930's at face value by Karl Stecher Sr. from coins turned in by the public as per President Roosevelt's March 9, 1933 directive. An old collector's envelope marked "1 gold 1861" is included.
From The Stecher Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
