<B>1861-D G$1 --Repaired--NCS. XF Details.</B></I> Variety 12-Q. The fields have been smoothed and whizzed, but the devices are relatively bold. No 1861-D gold dollars were struck under Union control. An unknown number, probably fewer than 2,000 pieces, were coined shortly after the Dahlonega Mint was seized by the Confederacy in April 1861.
